October is dedicated to the Most Holy Rosary .................... At the end of his audience Sept. 24, Pope Leo noted that October was approaching and that with the Oct. 7 feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, the Catholic Church traditionally dedicates the whole month to praying the rosary. I invite everyone to pray the rosary every day during the coming month -- for peace -- personally, with your families and in your communities," he said

Social justice .....Truth and Reconciliation... September 30th
Jennifer Pinto
Some months back I spoke to you about about our tiny social justice group working together with the social justice group in Pinawa in the area of the Truth and Reconciliation.
We hear a lot about Truth and Reconciliation. We also have day set aside on Sept 30th (this coming week).
I began to think what Truth and Reconciliation meant. They both brought me to Jesus. Jesus is the Truth and He is Forgiveness.
“Truth” in Christ involved where Jesus spoke it, lived it and called others to encounter it. And what is the Truth of “it”. In one word “Love”, God’s Love.
Jesus saw and heard people. He showed us how we are meant to live “love” with each other, how to see each other in “love” and to “love” each other even when it involves pain just as He did on His cross.
In Christ, the word “ reconciliation” means forgiveness. Reconciliation also touches upon seeing and hearing others - seeing and hearing their pain and suffering - Just like Jesus did with the blind man, the adulteress woman and the hemorrhaging woman. He saw their messiness, their sufferings and their burdens they were carrying. He offered His Hand and pulled them up and forgave them.
The first thing in this truth and reconciliation journey with our First Nations brothers and sister is: we need to remember we are not alone!!! We are entering this journey with Christ. Together with Jesus we will hear each other, see each other and have our hands and hearts open to one another. Loving and forgiving as Jesus did, encountering truth in its messiness, pains and confusion like Jesus did and also encounter the joys of forgiveness as Christ did.
I hope you will join in this journey of Truth and Reconciliation. Please look forward to small events that our churches will bring to the parishes in this Truth and Reconciliation journey
yours in Christ, Jennifer
