June is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the great sign of Christ’s love, mercy, and compassion. His Heart burns with tenderness for every person—especially the weary, the wounded, and those seeking peace. This month invites us to rest in His love and to let our own hearts become more like His: gentle, patient, and generous.
Pray the Morning Offering, a traditional Sacred Heart prayer.
Attend Mass or a Holy Hour in reparation for sins and for peace.
Place an image of the Sacred Heart in your home.
Pray for families and homes, entrusted to the Sacred Heart.
Offer small acts of kindness as acts of reparation.
Pray often: “Jesus, meek and humble of heart, make my heart like Yours.”
Begin the Sacred Heart Novena nine days before the Solemnity.
Practice patience, gentleness, and mercy in daily life.
St. Margaret Mary Alacoque (1647–1690) was a Visitation nun in Paray‑le‑Monial, France, chosen by Jesus to help the world rediscover His burning love. Between 1673 and 1675, Jesus appeared to her several times, showing her His Heart aflame with love for humanity and wounded by indifference.
Through her, Jesus asked the Church to embrace:
a Feast of the Sacred Heart,
Communion on the First Fridays,
a Holy Hour of reparation,
and consecration to His Sacred Heart.
Though she faced misunderstanding and trials, her humility and fidelity allowed the devotion to spread. With the support of St. Claude de la Colombière, the message of the Sacred Heart reached the whole Church. In 1856, the Feast of the Sacred Heart was extended to Catholics worldwide.
Her life reminds us:
The Heart of Jesus is always open—always loving, always merciful, always ready to welcome us back.
“Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place my trust in You.
You know my worries, my hopes, and my needs.
Hold me close to Your Heart and fill me with Your peace.”
“Sacred Heart of Jesus, burning with love,
I offer You my prayers, my works, and my small sacrifices today
in reparation for sin and for the healing of hearts.
Make my heart gentle, patient, and merciful like Yours.”
“Sacred Heart of Jesus, bless our homes.
Bring peace where there is tension,
hope where there is discouragement,
and love where there is division.
Be the Heart of our family.”
“Sacred Heart of Jesus, give me strength when I am tired,
courage when I am afraid,
and patience when I am tested.
Let Your Heart be my refuge.”
“Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.”
“Jesus, meek and humble of heart, make my heart like Yours.”
“Sacred Heart of Jesus, I trust in You.”
“Heart of Jesus, burning with love, inflame my heart with Your love.”
“Sacred Heart of Jesus, I give You my heart, my thoughts, and my life.
Shape me according to Your will.
Teach me to love as You love,
to forgive as You forgive,
and to serve with joy.
May Your Heart be my home forever.”

Special Year of St. Francis
Pope Leo XIV has declared a Special Year of St. Francis to mark 800 years since the saint’s death. Until January 10, 2027, the faithful may obtain a plenary indulgence under the usual conditions—confession, Communion, and prayer for the Holy Father—by visiting any Franciscan church or place dedicated to St. Francis. The indulgence is also available to the elderly, the sick, and those unable to leave home, who may participate spiritually through prayer and the offering of their daily challenges.
In a world marked by conflict and division, this Jubilee invites us to follow the example of St. Francis—living simply, seeking peace, and reflecting Christ’s love in daily life. The Franciscan family hopes this year will inspire all of us to become witnesses of peace and holiness
