State Chaplain’s Message
Father Bohdan Lukie CSsR
Dear Brother Knights and families,
Our Manitoba State Convention has successfully taken place and I personally wish to thank the State Board for all the diligent preparation and hard work of organizing this special weekend event.
I personally had the pleasure of meeting a number of the District Deputies and the Grand Knights and their wives and for this I am most grateful.
It was most edifying and inspiring to hear of all the wonderful charitable work that our Councils and their faithful members accomplish. I am pleased to be part of our Order, knowing that the Brother Knights accomplish so very much and do make a major difference in our parishes and in the Archdioceses of Manitoba. As the State Chaplain, I sincerely offer my humble “thank you” and encourage all our Knights to always honour the Knightly virtues of Unity, Charity and Fraternity...
As we slow down for the summer months, I encourage you to consider the following excellent advice during the spring garden season and beyond:
PLANT HAPPINESS
First plant 5 rows of “peas” Then 5 rows of “lettuce”
Prayer Let us be Faithful to duty
Perseverance Let us be Truthful
Politeness Let us be Unselfish
Promptness Let us Follow Christ
Purity Let us Love one Another
Next plant 3 rows of “squash” No garden is complete without “turnips”
Squash gossip Turn up for Church
Squash criticism Turn up with a Smile
Squash indifference Turn up with new ideas
Turn up with determination to make...
...everything count for something good and worthwhile.
It is amazing how a garden can challenge one’s imagination. Yes, imagine if I and you could do all the above. What a beautiful world we together would create!!!
May I wish and pray that ‘you’ and ‘yours’ are blessed with a wonderful, joyful, loveful, and peaceful summer and with the desire to continue to share all of your blessings into the new Columbian year! And don’t forget to be grateful for all your graces and gifts....
